How can we help?
Pace is built by one person. If something's not working or you have a question, get in touch — I read every message.
Frequently asked questions
How do I join the beta?
Install Apple's TestFlight app from the App Store, then enter your email on the Pace homepage. After you sign up, you'll be taken to the TestFlight invite to install Pace.
Is Pace free?
Pace is completely free during the beta. After launch it's a one-time $7.99 purchase — no subscription, no ads. The 9-week Zero to 5K plan is free forever.
Which devices does Pace support?
Pace is an iPhone app (iOS only) with Apple Health integration. There's no web version. An Android app and a dedicated Apple Watch app are on the roadmap.
What training plans are included?
Four plans:
- Zero to 5K — the 9-week beginner plan, free forever
- 5K to 10K — premium
- Run-Faster 5K — premium
- Maintain & Improve — ongoing weekly maintenance, premium
Can I build my own workouts?
Yes. You can create custom interval workouts, and choose from four color themes to personalize the app.
Will my music keep playing during a run?
Yes. Your music ducks (dips in volume) while a voice cue plays, then returns to full. It works with Apple Music, Spotify, and podcasts.
Does Pace work with Apple Health?
If you grant permission, Pace writes your completed workouts to Apple Health (so they count toward your Activity rings) and reads your heart rate during runs to show alongside your history. This data stays between your device and Apple Health.
To change or revoke access: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Pace.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Open Pace, go to Settings → Restore Purchases, and your premium upgrade will be re-applied. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds go through the App Store. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID to request one.
What analytics does Pace collect?
Only anonymous usage analytics, on by default, to help improve the app. Events are tied to a random identifier — never to you — and your IP address is discarded. No name, email, Apple Health data, or advertising identifier is ever sent.
Because this data carries no personal identifiers, there's nothing identifying to manage in-app. The Privacy Policy spells out exactly what is and isn't collected.
How do I unsubscribe from emails?
Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send, or email pace@philiplarsson.dev and I'll remove you.
How do I delete my data?
Your workout history and preferences live only on your device — deleting the app removes them. If you subscribed to emails and want that removed too, email pace@philiplarsson.dev. More detail is in the Privacy Policy.
I can't hear the voice cues.
A few things to check:
- Your iPhone isn't on silent (check the side switch / Control Center)
- The media volume is turned up
- A trainer voice is selected in the app's settings
- If you use Bluetooth headphones, they're connected and chosen as the output

Reporting a bug?
Including a few details helps me fix things faster:
- Your iPhone model and iOS version Settings → General → About
- The Pace version Settings → About, inside the app
- What you were doing when it happened, and what you expected to see instead

If the FAQ above didn't cover it, email me. I'm an indie developer, so I aim to reply within a few days. During the beta, bug reports are especially welcome.
